New world speed records approved by FAI
It is with pride that we announce the approval, by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), of the speed records set by Risen on April 16, 2021.
After the first speed record, set in 2015, and those obtained in 2019, a Risen powered by a Rotax 914 engine has set 2 new speed records, this time flying at high altitude (FL100).
The new records has been obtained in the RAL2T category as usual (“Movable aerodynamic control / Landplane / Flown with two persons / Thermal engine”), therefore with 2 people on board.
Risen had for the occasion its operational base at the Caiolo Airport (Sondrio) and the flights took place in the Valtellina sky, with Alberto Porto at the controls.
The 2 new records were obtained for the “Speed over a closed circuit” category, with a 50 km circuit, scoring a speed of 378.94 km/h; and for the "Speed over a straight course" category, over the distance of 15 km, reaching the speed of 400.45 km/h.
The records were established in accordance with the procedures established by FAI, using Flight Recorders under the control of an official AeCI Observer.
All the speed records set by Risen are shown at the following FAI page: view FAI.org / records

The first Risen 915 SuperVeloce delivered to US
The ferry flight of the first Risen SuperVeloce to the United States took place at the beginning of August.
The aircraft (you can have all the details on the Porto Aviation website), powered by a Rotax 915iS, was flown by Alberto Porto across the Atlantic Ocean, along the Northern route.
The flight started on the morning of August 2, 2021 from Voghera Airport, Porto Aviation's operational base; the first day of flight ended with the landing at Reykjavik Airport (Iceland), after the stops at Breda International Airport (Holland), operational base of a Risen 912iS, and at Wick Airport (Scotland), to put on the necessary suits to fly over the Atlantic.
The following day, August 3, 2021, the Risen SuperVeloce took off from Reykjavik with the aim of reaching Narsarsuaq Airport (Greenland) but the weather forced Alberto Porto to change route, landing at Kulusuk Airport (Greenland), 500 km further north.
The day of August 4, 2021 therefore saw a double leg: after reaching Narsarsuaq Airport (Greenland), and stopping there briefly, the Risen SuperVeloce left to land at Goose Bay Airport (Canada), the North American gateway.
The next day, a second route in Canadian territory brought the Risen SuperVeloce to Miramichi Airport where, due to the pandemic, it had to stop for a short period, before entering the USA and delivering.
We’d like to thank the friends and sponsors who have followed and supported Porto Aviation in

New Aviation Group
On 11 December 2017, among SEA-AVIO SA, ALISPORT SRL and Porto Aviation Group, an agreement was reached which, starting from 1 January 2018, will create a new group in the Italian Aviation Industry, active in engineering production and marketing of innovative aircraft and its components. The newborn group will benefit from the synergies deriving from the coproduction of the group's aircrafts, converging the production capacity currently held by each one.
Within the new group SEA will continue to play the role of holding company, also operating in the commercialization and development of the group's aircraft. Porto Aviation Group, which currently holds the intellectual property of the SIREN and RISEN models, is responsible for the manufacture and marketing of the same. ALISPORT SRL, a historic company for almost 25 years in the production and development of Sail Planes, currently active in the manufacture and marketing of its SILENT models, will bring two glider models and different propellers.
Ing. Cesare Beretta, Sole Director of ALISPORT SRL commented on the agreement reached:
"I am happy that ALISPORT, a company founded by my father since 1994, finds development and continuity in the newly formed group. The SILENT together with RISEN and SIREN, models of sure quality, not only continue in the initial intent to develop a new aeronautical company of sure reference for high class aircraft, but widen the offer to the market of the same ALISPORT, benefiting at the same time unified production capacity for better efficiency and economic return for the group".
Ing. Alberto Porto, Sole Director of Porto Aviation Group, commented the agreement just reached::
"The agreement reached today represents a natural evolution of 2 companies that are both engaged in engineering and manufacturing of excellent aircraft. Together with ALISPORT, we will certainly be able to better develop the market and produce all the aircraft in the group more effectively. I am confident that together with the whole team we have created a new, well-known aeronautical group, thus bringing back to Italy an ancient excellence lost for more than 50 years "..
Quarter Around the World
10th to 18th October
At the 10th of October the RISEN demo took off for its ferry flight to South America, crossing the Atlantic on the Southern Route. Around 2,650 km from Praia, Cape Verde, to Natal, Brazil – no problem with the 200 liter long-range fuel tanks and the super economic cruise of the RISEN.
With map 21 and 4,400 RPM the TAS was 230km/h with a fuel consumption of just 10 liters per hour at the first part and the standard cruise speed setting for the last one, Alberto managed to find the way between two thunderstorms and arrived safely in Natal after a flight of 10:15 hrs, with a final average speed of 260 km/h.
The total flight distance of the trip were over 11,000km, so over 6,000 NM, flown in a total time of 44:30 hrs. The stops for refueling and customs clearances have been Mutxamel (Spain), El Berriel (Gran Canaria), Praia (Cape Verde), Natal (Brazil), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Florianopolis (Brazil) and Melo (Uruguay). Final destination of the flight was Punta del Este in Uruguay, where the aircraft will represent AEROTEC in South America from now on.

Maiden flight of the first RISEN 914 Turbo
The first RISEN with a 914 has taken off for its maiden flight in Pavullo at the 29th of September.
Seventeen minutes of airtime with an impressive performance in take-off and cruise. The estimated maximum horizontal speed of 350 km/h at FL90 has been confirmed. In the later tests it was also flown over longer distances and in higher altitudes and also it has been tested up to 400 km/h in dive, at FL100. Argentina will be the home of this fantastic aircraft.
RISEN has passed the noise certification!
Good news for us and our European customers. Without any problems we have passed the noise test of the German Ultralight Association. This means we have done one more step towards the DULV certification. The data collected during the tests can also be used to certify the aircraft in other countries.
Germany Trip II
26th to 28th August
RISEN has done another trip to Germany this summer to meet some customers with reservations and attend a meeting south of Frankfurt. At the first day we did an impressive flight from Pavullo over the Alps to a small airfield close to the Dutch border. From there we went south again to the Rhine-Main-Area, stopping in Borkenberge.
As you can see on the photos we went straight over the city of Frankfurt, greeting the skyline. It was an amazing day and we did many test flights, leaving big smiles in many faces. After flying from sunrise to sunset we were tired, but excited for the next day. The glider club of Bensheim had invited us to joint their Fly-in and even present our plane in the first row – next to the Ju-52. What an honor to stand at the side of this legend and having others like the Tiger Moth passing by. The contrast between the planes was fantastic and demonstrates the development of aviation and aerodynamics over the past 80 years. For the visitors it was an interesting day and we had to answer many questions about our great little aircraft.
Later we left to Coburg for meeting our technical expert for the German UL certification before return to Aschaffenburg and doing some more test flights. The next morning we went back to Italy with a stop at the DULV headquarters. It was once again a fantastic experience. This time even with very good weather.

5th & 6th of June
The same weekend as the Raduno there was an ultralight meeting in the south of Germany at the wonderful airfield of Eggenfelden (EDME). Sadly the weather conditions on Sunday were not very welcoming, so most exhibitors left early. SEA came with the record Risen as promised and did several test flights. We are more than happy that once again also Risen kept its promise and left our visitors with a big smile on their face. The team of Eggenfelden was a great host and we are sure to be exhibitor also in the next year.
After leaving Eggenfelden Risen was heading to Kempten-Durach for a test flight with a customer. Kempten is the most southern and the highest airfield in Germany with 2339 ft (our home airport in Pavullo nel Frignano has 2244 ft). It has two grass runways, which were a bit soft due to the rain, but thanks to the low weight and slow approach speed Risen can easily land also with these conditions.
Due to the difficult weather conditions with heavy rains and thunderstorms we were forced to continue the journey back via Lyon with several stops. Check out your social media channels for more impressions and videos!
1° Raduno del Gruppo Piloti di Classe 2017
3rd & 4th June 2017
The airport of Pavullo nel Frignano, SEA’s production base, hosted the 1st Raduno of the Italian group “Piloti di Classe” this year. SEA presented its airplanes in the exhibitor area and enabled interested pilots to do a test flight in the fastest ultralight in the world. For SEA the event was a great chance to establish new contacts and keep up the relationships with Italian suppliers.
AERO in Friedrichshafen
9th April 2017
Also in this year SEA attended the AERO, the largest exhibition for general aviation in Europe.
The first demo version of Siren and the first Risen with a Rotax 914 Turbo, a fully customized
aircraft for an Argentinian customer, were presented.
The AERO was a great success for SEA resulting in a number of new reservations for the upcoming year. Also it brought a lot of new opportunities. As we are highly interested in supporting the project of making flying greener, we appreciate getting in contact with potential partners to eventually offer an electric-driven version of Risen in the future. As we are continuing our certification process with the DULV and have passed all test done at the first time, the DULV confirmed the availability of a permit to fly for this summer.
We hope you enjoyed the fair and will be happy to help you will any further questions. If you have missed the opportunity to visit us in Friedrichshafen, you are more than welcome to visit our production site in Italy or meet us during our summer trips in Germany.
6th April 2017
Risen was nominated as one of the top three in the category of ultralights by the readers of the
German aviation magazine, so SEA got an invitation for the Fliegermagazin Award Gala. This
was already a great honour for our young company. Just better that Risen even won its category at
the end. What a great surprise! Thanks a lot for voting for us!
We shared the winner stage with Beringer, our supplier of high-performance wheels and brakes.
Meet us at the AERO
You want to see our airplanes live? Meet us at the AERO in Germany! And we can promise: We will have at least one surprise. You can find us in hall B4 at stand 101, directly at the entrance. We are more than happy to welcome you there and answer all your questions. The AERO is the leading trade fair for general aviation in Europe and takes place from the 5th to 8th of April. Friedrichshafen is always worth a trip and you can even arrive with your aircraft (slot reservation mandatory if you go directly to EDNY).

FAI Award in Bali
In October Alberto Porto was invited to the FAI Awards in Bali. For the setting a new world record he was awarded with the De la Vaulx Medal. The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) is setting international standards and keeping records. It established the award in 1933 in memory of the Comte de La Vaulx, the founder and president of the FAI. This medal is just given to holders of confirmed and absolute world aviation records.

Visit in Germany
2nd to 4th September
In September the Risen was presented at the Adolf Würth Airport in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. Once again the outstanding performance convinced the visitors and we are proud to announce that we will soon deliver both models, the Risen and the Siren, to Germany. With Werner Hägele of Airo Aviation we also have a dealer in Germany now.
LAA Rally in Sywell
2nd to 4th September
From the 2nd to the 4th of September the Risen was presented at the LAA Sywell Rally. This yearly event is hosted by the Light Aircraft Association (LAA) and took place in Northampton, Great Britain. Once again our aircraft caught the attention of many pilots, amateur builders and journalists. For the Risen it was the first time to cross the English Channel.
Speed Record Approval
We are proud to announce that the Risen is now the official speed record holder with 323.82 km/h (201 mph) certified by the World Air Sports Federation (FAI). It broke the absolute record of the class R (Microlights and paramotors) and the one for speed over a straight course (sub-class RAL2T). This top speed was reached with two persons and a standard Rotax 912 with 100 hp.
The previous record of 300.5 km/h was set by a tandem seater with a modified engine and a particular propeller made just for this event, whereas the Risen broke this record as a serial production with no modification. Now any of our customers can improve the record with their new Risen.

New site in Pavullo
7th & 8th May
In April Swiss Excellence Airplanes moved the production to the new site in Pavullo nel Frignano close to the famous Italian Motor Valley. Before World War II Pavullo had been a home to the Swiss aircraft engineer Ludwig Fréderic Teichfuss, who was also coming from Lucern originally. The “Fabbrica Alianti Luigi Teichfuss” became a well-known producer of gliders in Italy. Today the AeroClub Pavullo (LIDP) has a concrete runway of 1190 metres length. For our visitors there are guest rooms at the airport and also hotels available in the town of Pavullo. For more information about the airport follow this link: http://www.aeroclubpavullo.it/
Swiss Excellence Airplanes at Aero 2016 Friedrichshafen
One year has passed from the Risen world unveiling at Aero show, and Sea has made a lot of work during this period to be present for this 2016 edition with a lot news: 3Risen airplanes sold now in construction, a new larger operation base where airplanes are assembled, a world speed record claimed, and a new model coming soon: Siren.

Risen world speed record challange
in the sunny morning of 16th December 2015, at the Aviosuperficie di Ozzano Dell'Emilia "Guglielmo Zamboni” Bolagna, Swiss Excellence Airplanes Risen has won a new challenge: striking the UL class world speed record with a standard Rotax 912 ULS 100 hp engine.
Is it a unique fact that the pilot is also the engineer that designed the machine, so the satisfaction for SEA was double. Pilot Alberto Porto, with Sara della Moretta on board has made a 323,31 Km/h Speed over a straight course, establishing a new AECI certified national record that was claimed and now is under review at FAI. This amazing speed was performed not from a prototype machine, with a long experience test pilot and a special tuned engine.
Swiss Excellence Airplanes double challenge was to demonstrate that a common pilot (Alberto Porto got the pilot licence only 4 years ago), with a standard production Risen airplane, powered by a stock engine (Rotax local distributor certified that the engine used for the record is from standard production) could perform this great performances every day in a luxury, premium aircraft, in full safety.
Risen goes to Modena
Risen was the special guest at the italian homebuilders association (CAP) meeting at Pavullo airport (Modena). This region is the nest of the world's best supercars as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Pagani and we found the same enthusiasm for our Risen. To thank for such warm hospitality we have offered to the guests several test flights over the Appennini mountains and had the honour to have on board the Association president, Eng. Folchini.
Risen over the Alps
Risen attended AeroParty 2015 in Caiolo airport (Sondrio). During the weekend we displayed the airplane and offered to several people the opportunity of a demo flight over the beautiful Alps, at the Swiss border.
On Sunday evening we flew back to our Italian base in Casale Monferrato, in rainy weather although always in complete safety.
Presentation to the local Press in Casale Monferrato
On July 16 2015, Swiss Excellence Airplanes presented Risen to the local press, on the airport of Casale Monferrato, current test site of the aircraft. The prototype and first production Risen flew together; following that, the production Risen, now fully operative, showed its performance capability. On the same occasion, this first production unit underwent a test flight by "VS Aviation", the outcome of which will be the subject of an article, in the August issue of the magazine.
Participation in ‘CIELO e VOLO’ 2015
Swiss Excellence Airplanes was present at the airshow ‘ Cielo et Volo’ 2015, with the first production Risen, arriving in flight at the Zamboni airfield (nr. Bologna), the site of the event. Following the static exhibit at Aero 2015, the first production airplane is now flying and the test flights going on as planned; Risen first production plane will soon be ready for demo flights with prospective customers. In the meantime the Risen prototype accumulated more flight hours.
Participation in ‘CIELO e VOLO’ 2015
The official presentation of Risen aircraft, took place in Friedrichshafen on AERO 2015 opening day, April 15.
The unveiling was in the early afternoon, in the presence of SEA members and numerous flight enthusiasts and journalists from all around the world. The one presented was the first production aircraft, a direct descendant of the prototype which, over the past three years, has accumulated many flight hours.
The ceremony was conducted by Alberto Porto, CEO and chief designer of SEA, who has illustrated the spirit and passion, combined with technical rigors, which has guided the development of the aircraft. In the days of the fair, the aircraft will remain on display at stand A7.
